Space cleared out for Square Foot Garden.
Wooden frame constructed of 2 x 6" cedar, coated with linseed oil, for Square Foot Garden with wire mesh to keep moles from tunneling in. The wood was screwed together with deck screws.
Weed fabric was placed on top of wire mesh inside Square Foot Garden.
The box was filled with 1/3 compost, 1/3 peat moss and 1/3 vermiculite.
The box is covereed with wood lath, coated with linseed oil, at 1' intervals to make a Square Foot Garden. It was attached to the frame with deck screws. The intercies were attached with stainless steel pan head screws and nuts after pre-drilling with a 9/64 bit.
Freshly planted tomatoes, zucchini, acorn squash, Japanese eggplant, English thyme, basil, tarragon, sage, min, Carmen hybrid pepper and California Wonder pepper.
Six weeks after planting was started, the Square Foot Garden is growing. Note the trellis to support tomatos, peas and beans. On the left I tied pink twine to support Kandy Korn.
The zuchinni is planted in the center of a 3 x 3 foot grid.
